Mama's Pride were a southern rock band, lead by brothers Danny and Pat Liston, in the style of The Allman Brothers Band with great blues jams. They issued two rockin' albums in the 1970s on Atlantic Records. The eponymous Mama's Pride was originally issued in 1975. Southern rock fans with eat this up! Wounded Bird. But this excellent album is well worth seeking out. Their followup, "Uptown. Lowdown" was one I never heard until recently, but it's very good too. But this first Mama's Pride album is the real find. Southern Rock fans especially will like the songs here. Lots of melodic tunes with great harmonies, and some fine guitar playing too, although most songs are on the mellower end of the spectrum, rather than rough and rowdy rockers.
