Celebrate the Dead is the third EP by Beherit, released in 2012. The album includes a new song and a re-recording of "Demon Advance", originally found on the Engram album. The tracks on the EP showcase a decidedly more dark ambient style than those found on their last effort. Beherit is a black metal band from Finland. The band was formed in 1989 by Nuclear Holocausto (Marko Laiho), Black Jesus (Arjo Wennström) and Sodomatic Slaughter (Jari Pirinen), with the purpose of performing "the most primitive, savage, hell-obsessed black metal imaginable". Beherit" is the Syriac word for Satan. Through the uncommercial nature of their music, visuals and live performances, the band quickly attracted a cult following. Besides the "raw" sound, the band's music is noted for its avant-garde side and emphasis on atmosphere.

A droning party for the undead. 80%. hells unicorn, September 13th, 2012. The best way to describe this album is as a hybrid of the extremely noise-ridden, otherworldly character of Drawing Down The Moon and the lingering, dream-like ambient landscapes of the two non-metal albums that followed it. In some respects, one could speculate as to whether these guys started listening to Nadja and a handful of funeral doom bands as some common elements of noisy, dissonant distorted guitar riffs are combined with a very slow, restrained mixture of straight doom beats and mechanical sounding background ambiences.
