Masters of the Universe is a music boxset/compilation recording by HAWKWIND (Psychedelic/Space Rock/Progressive Rock) released in 1977 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. Musically this album showcases the spaced out contributions of heavy bass, drum and keyboard trio with wild vocals and assorted musical instruments. The album runs like a wild nightmare!
Track 1 recorded at Air, London ℗ 1971. Track 2 produced at Rockfield Studios ℗ 1972. Track 3 and 4 recorded with Pye Mobile. Mixed at Olympic Studios ℗ 1973.
First recorded in 1971, Master of the Universe has become one of Hawkwind's defining tracks. By the time Hawkwind went on the Space Ritual tour, Anderson had departed and Lemmy had joined the band, with his partnership with Brock giving the track a much heavier, driving sound.

It reached No. 18 on the UK album charts. Bass player John A Harrison left just after recording the first album, replaced by Thomas Crimble who in turn was replaced by Dave Anderson from Amon Düül II for this album, and who in turn would be gone before its release.
