Description

Sarah Vaughan led a bit of a double life during her years on Mercury/EmArcy. There were the stunning jazz-vocal and lushly produced pop albums and there were the more commercial sides for the singles market.

During Sarah Vaughan's period with Roulette there were several attempts to come up with a hit record; none succeeded. This rather brief CD (around 35 minutes) has 14 songs but despite some moments of interest (such as cover versions of "Don't Go to Strangers," "Love" and "Mama, He Treats Your Daughter Mean," the latter two being previously unissued), little memorable occurs. Although of some interest to Sarah Vaughan completists, there are many more essential sets around than this one.
