In the spring of 1969, Lennon, who had recently married Ono, was busy using his celebrity to promote peace at a time when the Vietnam War was still going strong. visa due to a drug conviction, he went to Montreal, where he and Ono took a room at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel on May 26 to stage a week-long.
