Skyforger is a heavy metal band from Latvia which was formed in 1995 out of the remains of doom metal band Grindmaster Dead. Most of their songs are about Baltic mythology and warfare; they also play traditional Latvian folk songs and their metal arrangements. Although Skyforger is known for their folk metal, their style on their demo Semigalls' Warchant is essentially black metal.

Semigalls' Warchant" demo (songs A1 to A7) was recorded and mixed at Phoenix Studio, Riga, Latvia, during one week - from March 27 to April 2, 1997. Asinslauks" EP (songs B1 to B4) was recorded and mixed at Phoenix Studio, Riga, Latvia, during the end of 2004, beginning of 2005.
