White Lion was a Danish/American rock band that was formed in New York City in 1983 by Danish vocalist/rhythm guitarist Mike Tramp and American lead guitarist Vito Bratta. Mainly active in the 1980s and early 1990s, releasing their debut album Fight to Survive in 1985. The band achieved success with their No. 8 hit "Wait" and No. 3 hit "When the Children Cry" from their second album, the double platinum selling Pride.

Tramp also reformed White Lion with a new line up under the name "Tramp's White Lion" (aka White Lion II) due to legal issues with former members. The band played and re-recorded White Lion songs. TWL toured during 2005 and released a double-live CD entitled Rocking the USA. In 2006 Tramp's White Lion toured Europe in November and December with British band Crimes of Passion.

Former WHITE LION frontman Mike Tramp will release a new album, "Stray From The Flock", on March 1, 2019 via Mighty Music. A single titled "Dead End Ride" will precede the full-length effort on January 25, 2019. Tramp's debut album as a solo artist, "Capricorn", was reissued on November 2 for its 20th anniversary. The effort was remastered at Medley Studios in Copenhagen and the artwork was carefully restored and refreshed. Last year, Tramp said that he had no interest in reuniting with guitarist Vito Bratta
