Hello, I once heard someone say, Looks good on you, when he saw his friends with a brand new hat on his friends' head. Only use "on" if the person is wearing the thing in question. If s/he is wearing a mop, you can say that the mop looks good on them (hard to imagine, but why not? ). On the other hand, it would sound very strange to say "a mop looks good with you". Unless, maybe you wish to tease somebody (about their appearance) by saying even a mop looks good with you. That seems unlikely to me. C.
