Secrets of the Heart (Chesney Hawkes song). Secrets Of The Heart" is a song written by Chesney Hawkes and Nigel Hinton and recorded by Hawkes. Produced by Alan Shacklock, the single was Hawkes's follow up to the one hit wonder "The One and Only" and "I'm a Man Not a Boy" that featured in the film Buddy's Song starring Hawkes as Buddy and Roger Daltrey (of rock band The Who) as his father. The B-Side "One World" was a cover of the 1989 Nik Kershaw track from his album The Works

In 1967, they performed at the Monterey Pop Festival and released the US top ten single I Can See for Miles, the groups fourth album, 1969s rock opera Tommy, included the single Pinball Wizard and was a critical and commercial success. Live appearances at Woodstock and the Isle of Wight Festival, along with the live album Live at Leeds, with their success came increased pressure on lead songwriter and visionary Townshend, and the follow-up to Tommy, Lifehouse, was abandoned.

He is best known for one single "The One and Only", which topped the UK Singles Chart, and reached the Top 10 in the United States. Hawkes was born in Windsor, Berkshire. He was named after the singer and comedian Chesney Allen. His father is the singer Len 'Chip' Hawkes, formerly with the 1960s band The Tremeloes
