Clyde Lensley McPhatter was an American rhythm-and-blues, soul and rock-and-roll singer. He was the lead tenor of the Mount Lebanon Singers, a gospel group he formed as a teenager.

While his Mercury & MGM output never equalled his Atlantic recordings, there are a number of nice soul ballads & of course, his last Top 10 hit, Lover Please. For the collector, a nice addition of R & B to augment any 60's music lover's collection, by an underappreciated artist, in my opinion !
