Get the 2LP set for gods sake. I dont have this but it must sound so much more compressed than the 2LP one by the nature of vinyl cutting.

A beautifully stylized album which looks great, but doesn't sound as fantastic. I dont have the highest grade setup, however I do have other albums which I consider sounding much better than this one. Woodkid is a very bombastic and epic artist and I imagine getting all the musicality of his work is a hard thing to do, none the less it is a great package, surprisingly with lyrics for all the songs and download codes. If you can find the same package with a better mastering of the record that would be a must have. GOLDEN would have done a great job on this I think, it would be pretty funny if GOLDEN did the mastering for The Golden Age as well. But as it stands its still an above average one.Update: With a new cart and new listening ears Ive come back to appreciate this more than I remembered. It may not be exactly where I want it dynamics and stereo separation wise, but perhaps an even better setup would help. This is really one of those releases that just beg for a 45 RPM version to help the mastering and cutting engineers out. Still well deserved of an extra star. Unfortunatly the LP sounds lousy because of the usual "loudness"-problem. It is a pitty because the music could have been really great on LP....besides that it is a good "popalbum".

This is definetely the best album i have. This music is that magnificent, i wont find any valid words to rate it. It's classic, it's new, it's epic, it's light, it's heavy. This is just the finest piece of music produced the last decades.

Actually there is a french market edition in Fnac shops with only 1 black LP in deluxe hardback gatefold (Pias records) and another international version made in Germany with 2 white LP distributed by Island-Universal (barcode 0602537276936) but with conventional gatefold sleeve and lyrics & download code included on an inner sheet.

Luke1996 Is this version a good press ? I heard several times that there were some problems of pressing with the 2 LP version. Im sure you got it already but mine is near flawless. Pallas, the pressing plant that made the 2LP set are one of the best in the world right now.

on one hand a nice lim ed. cd book; on the other hand the featured cd comes in a very thin paper sleeve and that one is glued so strong that you can not open the sleeve without destroying it. speechless about this!
