Houses of the Holy is the fifth studio album by the English rock band Led Zeppelin. It was released on 28 March 1973 by Atlantic Records. Several songs subsequently became fixtures in the group's live set, including "The Song Remains the Same", "The Rain Song" and "No Quarter".

Houses Of The Holy, one of LZ’s most epic albums, is a showcase of folk and softcore classic metal mastery. Jimmy Page later confirmed after Houses of the Holy’s release it was recorded directly from Mick Jagger’s home: Beginning with their third release in 1970, Led Zeppelin sought to escape the drab confines of traditional recording studios by spending a portion of their album sessions holed up at an intimate rural estate. It was an idea borrowed from the Band, who had a communal home near Bob Dylan’s upstate.

They may be as small as just one room, or they may have hundreds of rooms. They also are made many different shapes, and may have just one level or several different levels. A house is sometimes joined to other houses at the sides to make a "terrace" or "row house" (a connected row of houses). A big building with many levels and apartments is called "a block of flats" (British) or an apartment building. The house might be made of materials that can be found nearby like mud bricks and grass or from second-hand materials like corrugated iron and cardboard boxes. In many cities there are thousands of small houses crowded together with narrow alleys between them. Cottages in the village of East Garston in England.

I DO NOT know where the first semi-detached house was built but I have it on reliable authority that the second one was built just next door to the first. George James, Shepperton, Middx. The Georgian terrace held sway until the last decade of the 18th century, when inflationary pressures pushed up building costs and left some terraces uncompleted - similar to the problems today in Docklands. That is, if you take the meaning of semi-detached to be two houses to look from a distance like one. Pevsner/Cherry in their book, London 2: South, give the Gayfere/Groves houses the accolade. Searles's first semis followed about 30 years later.

William Somerset Maugham. I have always been convinced that if a woman once made up her mind to marry a man nothing but instant flight could save him. Not always that; for once a friend of mine. seeing the inevitable loom menacingly before him, took ship from a certain port (with a toothbrush for all his luggage, so conscious was he of his danger and the necessity for immediate action) and spent a year travelling round the world; but when, thinking himself safe (women are fickle, he said, and in twelve. Your news shatters me. 1 shall never get over the blow, but of course your happiness must be my first consideration.
