Byrds & Mr. Hyde is the seventh album by the American rock band the Byrds and was released in March 1969 on Columbia Records (see 1969 in music). The album was produced by Bob Johnston and saw the band juxtaposing country rock material with psychedelic rock, giving the album a stylistic split-personality that was alluded to in its title.
Byrds and Mr. Hyde is the seventh studio album by The Byrds. It was the first album to be recorded with new members Clarence White (lead guitar), John York (bass), and Gene Parsons (drums). The album alternates between psychedelic rock and country/folk rock, and the band decided to name the album after the novel Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde as a reference to the album’s split personality. The album is also notable for being the only Byrds album to have guitarist Roger McGuinn singing lead vocals on every track. Dr. Byrds & Mr. Hyde Q&A.
