Halfway to Heaven is the second studio album by Brantley Gilbert. It was originally released on March 16, 2010 via Average Joes Entertainment. As of January 2015, the album has sold 1,081,200 copies. The original album was produced by Gilbert along with the Atom Brothers, Jonathan Waggoner, and Jess Franklin, except for "Country Must Be Country Wide" (produced by Dann Huff) and "Dirt Road Anthem Revisited" (produced by Phive Starr Productions).

While Gilbert has cited the influence of fellow Georgians . and the B-52's, these inspirations are inaudible on his second album, Halfway to Heaven. A more accurate assessment of his musical roots is made on his Southern pride anthem "Kick It In the Sticks," where he shouts out "AC/DC, Hank, Skynyrd, and George Strait" over huge, hard-rocking riffs worthy of the first name on that list. Exactly which Hank he's referring to is uncertain, because with an artist like Gilbert, it's just as likely to be the second or even the third.

Brantley Gilbert's debut album Halfway to Heaven simply ROCKS. It's actually more southern rock than country. From the rockin' opener Hell On Wheels, to the radio-country of Back In The Day, BG covers a wide variety of styles. There's quite a few songs with an almost hard-rock guitar tone, like Kick It In The Sticks, and one song called Take It Outside that reminds me of hard-rock heroes Disturbed (oddly, I don't know why). TIO is the closest thing I've ever heard to metal in country.
