Released in 1968, Anthem of the Sun was the Grateful Dead’s second studio album. It has only five songs on it, which is the lowest number of songs between any of the band’s studio albums. It is also the first album to feature their second drummer, Mickey Hart, who joined the band in September 1967. The Grateful Dead first came to national prominence in the late-60's as San Francisco's premier psychedelic band.
