The Hyakki Yagyo is a night where all manner of yokai, ogres, ghosts and other supernatural creatures parade through the streets in one massive spectacl. The following 25 illustrators will interpret a Japanese folklore classic by creating 4 creatures each. All 100 pieces will be featured with a final composition of all their work this October.

Hyakki Yagyo" or "NightParade of 100 demons" is a Japanese legend when all the Yokai (demons) parade through town causing mayham, mischeif and chaos. These are my original interpretations of Japanese myths, monsters and legends. Someday when i've drawn 100 yokai, I might release a bestiary, as well as eventually branch out to do cryptids, ghosts and other mythos. Is the "100" just a mistranslation or something? Doesn't seem like the actual number has any significance to any of the night parades. It just seems to me like it might be a too literal word-for-word translation of something that would really means "lots" or "horde" in context. Because I really wish they'd just call it "The Night Parade" in Nura, instead of inserting 100 into it every single time. Ono has dispatched soldiers to many Night Parades of a Hundred Demons in many eras' Don't be scared of nightmares; make them be scared of you.

Rikuo is sent to Yokai Academy to build his own Night Parade of 100 demons by his grandfather to fulfill his destiny as the third leader of the Nura clan. Bold means Author Notes. Italics mean Thought/ Dream/ Flashback. This is an idea I just thought up out of the blue. To me it seems like a really good idea and I hope you guys like it. Also I am writing this out of pure memory. And again Tskune Aono will not exist in this story. Rikuo Nura was at a bus stop in Japan waiting for his bus. In a few years time Rikuo was going to have to become the new head of the Nura clan and in the eyes of the other head yokai, he was still young and wasn't meant to be the new head. There was also the fact that Rikuo was 3/4 human.
