India Arie's perfectionism was reflected in the time she needed to Accoustic Soul. It took her two years to get her debut. No wasted time, because Accoustic Soul was with loud cheers. The three months that they needed for the successor, is in stark contrast, and is due to the standard r&b-formula that they this time on her songs is released. The acoustic guitar has remained, but she makes it very easy, making each song on each other. Nevertheless, Voyage To India in the r&b-genre a profound album, which certainly above the middle bracket. But we know they can do better.

Voyage to India was a strong follow-up. In 18 short months, its maker had matured. Although Arie often sings like a love-struck family-centered teenager, her vocals are confident and assured. Arie’s straightforward sincerity stops this all being mawkishly or new age. The album’s lead single, Little Things, was based on a subtle phrase from the 1977 track Hollywood by Rufus and Chaka Khan. Like everything here, the lift is discreet and in the best taste.
