Kvelertak are well known in Norway for their furious live energy and catchy, melodic, metal-inspired punkrock, and have allready played the Roskilde Festival. Their much anticipated debut album will be produced and recorded by Kurt Ballou og Converge in his Godcity Studios, and released worldwide by Indie Recordings 2009 All songs by Kvelertak, Tracks 1+3 recorded in Caliban Studios (Oslo) by Ruben Willem and Kvelertak, February 2009, Track 2 recorded in Bekk Studios (stavanger) by Ashley Stubbert and Kvelertak August 2009 /Guest vocals by Nattefrost.

Kvelertak is the eponymous debut album by the Norwegian band Kvelertak, released on 21 June 2010 through Indie Recordings. The album was released in North America on 15 March 2011 through The End Records with six bonus tracks-four live recordings from the group's BBC sessions and two demo tracks.

Known dubiously in some circles as "hipster-metal", Kvelertak draws from a broad palette of influences. Maybe this multifaceted approach lends to the chagrin of dedicated, sub-genre obsessed acolytes; the liberal infusion of hardcore and black metal with classicist hard rock riffing brings a much-needed injection of variation to some otherwise well entrenched genres. But no matter which direction they sway, the Norwegian six-piece does nothing but embrace the essence of fun-loving punk rock.
