Complete your Francis And The Lights collection. A fantastic synth pop, alt. r'n'b record, but it sounds like crap on vinyl. It lacks in punch, bass and separation. Worth getting it for a great cover artwork though. Reply See 2 replies Notify me Helpful.

Wonder what does "amended sleeve" mean. No idea literally. One more word.

I was actually surprised that my copy sounded as good as it did...which has not been my typical experience with other Not On Label releases. It sound just fine playing on my Rega through a Jolida tube amp. I mean it's a bootleg, so it isnt going to sound perfect - but I can accept that because I dig this record so much. Nice to have a physical release.

I don't think this is a bootleg buddy. This was officially released through Rough Trade with Francis.

A fantastic synth pop / alt. r'n'b record, but it sounds like crap on vinyl. It lacks in punch, bass and separation. A truly lifeless piece of plastic, the iTunes version sounds way better. Worth getting it for a great cover artwork though.

I actually tried it out on two set-ups and it sounded horrible on both. And you don't even need a good set-up to recognise that the record sounds shitty. It has all the symptoms of bad mastering: the sibilance of vocals is present on all of the tracks, the dense parts of music are brickwalled to the point that you can't separate sounds from one another, the music doesn't come to life through peakers, it lacks punch and doesn't have any dynamic.

Really? I was blown away by the quality of this pressing. Thought it sounded really good. Maybe it's your system & set-up?

Happy I was able to get a hold of this with only 500 made. I enjoy this album although I wish his "It'll Be Better" album was available on vinyl as I like it more.
