This album was originally released with black lettering on a white background, the reverse of the colour scheme of Volume One. In the current version, it is now the second half of the Past Masters album.

Past Masters contains 33 non-album Beatles tracks - ranging from classic A-sides to hits sung in German - two CDs were released in 1988 called Past Masters Volume One and Volume Two. Although originally featuring a combination of mono and stereo versions, the remastered Past masters compilation contains only the stereo mixes, if they exist. Many of the band's best known and most acclaimed songs are present, and the collection illustrates the vast amount of work that was created in little over seven years.

Slightly different issue than Past Masters, Volume Two: BIEM/MCPS and the 'Made in UK' text are printed differently on the CD face.

You Know My Name was originally recorded as early as in 1967. The version of ''Across The Universe'' on ''Past Masters Volume 2'' is from the 1969 World Wild Life Fund charity album ''No One's Gonna Change Our World'' and Phil Spector has nothing to do with it - he reproduced the version on the ''Let It Be'' album.

Not simply a must have . for the Beatles' fan who has everything (or at least everything else), 'Past Master's 2' is a solid Beatles' album no matter how you choose to mix and match their albums. One person found this helpful.
