The Music Machine was an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1966. Fronted by chief songwriter and lead vocalist Sean Bonniwell, the band cultivated a characteristically dark and rebellious image reflected in an untamed musical approach. Sometimes it made use of distorted guitar lines and hallucinogenic organ parts, punctuated by Bonniwell's distinctively throaty vocals.

The Music Machine’s big hit was Talk Talk, a stomping, grunted neolithic garage stomper from 1966 that quickly rose to on the charts and remained in the Top 40 for twelve weeks. Bonniwell, the singer released a solo album called Close in 1969, published a memoir in 1996 called Talk Talk, and died of lung cancer in 2011. Olsen formed the still-active Pogologo production company in 1973. Edgar died in early 2015. Various labels have rereleased (Turn On) The Music Machine, most recently Germany’s Repertoire Records in 2007. In 2000, Sundazed Records released a compilation of material recorded for a second, unreleased Bonniwell Music Machine album paired with Ragamuffins demos as Ignition.
