Ewa Poblocka - A prize-winner of the Tenth International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Ewa Pobłocka also received the prize for the best performance of Chopin mazurkas (1980). Ewa Pobłocka was born in Chełmno. She comes from a musical family and began her piano education at the age of five. She studied at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk and graduated with honours in 1981. She continued her education completing her post-graduate studies in Hamburg under Conrad Hansen. She is laureate of international piano competitions in Vercelli, Bordeaux and Warsaw. She conducts piano classes at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz and at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. She has given master classes around the world. She is also Visiting Professor at the Geidai University of Arts and Music in Tokyo and Nagoi.

A sixtieth-birthday album from the world-renowned artist Ewa Pobłocka, a prize-winner of the 10th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw and one of the most outstanding Polish pianists. This disc is a unique release in the series ‘Concerts frozen in time’, containing archive recordings of a performance with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and Kazimierz Kord (1984) and a Bach recital also given at the Warsaw Philharmonic (1985). The Polish pianist Ewa Pobłocka was one of the first musicians in her country to go abroad for training during the Communist era, and she has enjoyed an international career as a concerto soloist and recitalist. Pobłocka has also been a significant figure as a teacher. She was born November 21, 1957, in the town of Chełmno in northern Poland. After starting piano lessons at age five, at 12 Pobłocka began to accompany her mother, Zofia Janukowicz-Pobłocka, who was a singer and teacher, in concert. Pobłocka attended secondary school and then university at the Fryderyk Chopin.
Ewa Pobłocka is one of the Polish most distinguished pianists. She studied at the Music Academy in Gdansk, and is the holder of top awards from piano competitions in Vercelli, Bordeaux and Warsaw.
