Hard driving riff rock, Meat Puppets style. Huevos" was recorded in four days and released less than six months after "Mirage". But where that album was spacey and lush, "Huevos" is rough and spontaneous. Writing for the Village Voice,Howard Hampton declared it to be "steeped in bliss", while in the the Los Angeles Times,Gina Arnold called it "the band's best effort yet". On Huevos, the Meat Puppets continued to expand their musical palette. While many have called Huevos the band's ode to ZZ Top, the band makes the sound truly their own as the spirited performances show a sense of urgency lost on their previous album. Every track here is very solid.

Meat Puppets is the first album by American band the Meat Puppets, released in 1982. The album is unlike their later, better-known releases due to its hardcore punk sound. The album was recorded in a matter of days, there are very few overdubs and many of the tracks are first takes. Like other early SST albums the sound quality is rather spotty; there is noticeable fuzz in the background of the music.

However, while Huevos is loose, it's not sloppy; this band had been keeping up a busy road schedule long enough that it could play with a comfortable precision, and there's an amiable enthusiasm and confidence in the way the trio tears into these tunes.

Monsters is the sixth studio album by American rock band the Meat Puppets, released in October 1989. Their last release on SST Records, it was reissued on Rykodisc in 1999 with additional bonus tracks, recording notes by Derrick Bostrom and liner notes by music journalist Mark Kemp. As an added bonus, the reissue includes an "Enhanced CD" partition for play on home computers. Monsters offers the promotional video for "Light"
