With this exposure, Madoo would make his first recordings for producer Joel 'Joe Gibbs' Gibson in 1979, with the following period until 1982 to be seen as a certain height of his career, after which he relocated to the USA & only recorded sporadically. During this time he continued to work for Gibbs as well as various other producers like Winston Riley (Techniques label) & Ken McKenley aka Tony Shabazz who had began as a singer in the late 1960's but found greater success as a producer during the 1970's-1980's. One of the tracks they cut together was this 1980.

I was into punk and hardcore all through middle school and high school, but by 87-88 I was feeling they had run their course. I liked the Beastie Boys (who had coincidentally originally been a hardcore band) and RUN DMC, but not until Public Enemy did I feel Hip Hop was the new punk. I love Public Enemy’s first record: Yo, Bum Rush The Show, but it was.

The discography of Public Enemy, an American hip hop group, consists of fourteen studio albums, two live albums, four compilation albums, two remix albums, one soundtrack album, four video albums, thirty-nine singles, four promotional singles and thirty-nine music videos. The group released their debut studio album, Yo! Bum Rush the Show, in February 1987; it peaked at number 125 on the United States Billboard 200. The album spawned the singles "Public Enemy No. 1" and "You're Gonna Get Yours".
