Second Coming is the eponymous second studio album by the American rock band Second Coming.

Second Coming is a loose, multilayered overproduction that created a genius sound. Ian's vocal,John and Mani funky soul groove, and Reni's jazz training coming into full bloom. for me, the reason second coming gets slated so much, is because it gets constantly compared to, and is measured against, the debut album "the stone roses", when compared to what is, in my book, one of the greatest albums of all time, by any band, it's always gonna fall short. I do believe that if the second coming was made by any other band but the roses, it would be seen as a truly great album rather than the disappointment it is viewed as today. Reply Notify me Helpful. Take the "concealed track", buried amongst 86 tracks of silence, which forces you to skip forward to reach the actual album, rather than backwards. Then there's the 4 minute intro to the album.

After many releases and remixes on various labels he launched the second album Protechtion (Drumcode 1999). While the market was being flooded with monoton loop oriented techno Beyer worked on strengthening the arrangements that characterised his earlier works, aswell as adding melodic strings. Still with a clear focus on the dance floor.

A1: Exactly the kind of record that kept be sane under the barrage of tribal and industrial banality. This has the great beats many other tracks have but is bathe in soaring long chord synths and offers a moment of beauty that was virtually removed from techno of the era. [TEN]A3: Moody, almost from horror and claustrophobic and perhaps achieves it's aim an it is interesting but a pleasure it is not. [SIX]B1: Moody with a lovely engaging long chord loop which is agitated to remain interesting. I Like. [NINE]B3: Down beat and stripped back in many ways but with some big industrial thumps and soaring chords combined with an effective "Rotation" vocal it has a Detroit flavour. Works as a set opener or unusual set closer. [NINE]

Not usually a fan of the compressed, hydraulic, loopy, scandinavian techno sound, but this EP has got something, in it intricate percussion and haunting, almost IDM pads. Good stuff.
