Metallica: Through the Never is the soundtrack album to the film of same name, with songs mostly recorded in four Canadian concerts (two in Edmonton and two in Vancouver), aside from Orion, that was done in a soundcheck. Metallica: Through the Never is a 2013 feature-length film named for the 1991 song " Through the Never, " from the album Metallica (Black Album). The film follows a roadie named Trip during an urgent mission he is sent out on, and is shown together with concert footage from a span of concerts Metallica held in August 2012. The film was released by Picturehouse in North America on September 27, 2013, exclusively in over 300 IMAX® 3D theaters, and then expanded into additional theaters on October 4, 2013.
