Rockdetector A-Z of Thrash Metal. for: Rockdetector A-Z of Thrash Metal. The album names are just in a slightly smaller font than the band names. Since this is the kind of book that you'll want to use as a reference, this makes looking for a specific band a little difficult, since you can't find the band names just by glancing quickly at a page. Some people told me that it's the content, not the packaging that matter, but in the case of a printed book, I have to strongly disagree. Layout screw ups: Some band names are not bolded, some information that should not be bolded IS bolded, very often there is no blank space left between the band sections

At first mocked by rock traditionalists, Thrash breathed new life into the rock scene, providing older acts with a much needed kick. It fueled genres such as Thrashcore, Crossover, Speed Metal, Death Metal, and Black Metal-and it propelled one of its own, Metallica, to the very pinnacle of rock's elite. This encyclopedia-style book explores a panoply of bands.

The impact of Doom can be felt not only in the respect afforded to faithful cult acts such as The Obsessed and Trouble but in burgeoning enormity of both the Black Sabbath legend and sheer scale of album sales. The rude health of those that have been handed on the flame, the new breed such as My Dying Bride, Cathedral, Paradise Lost, November’s Doom and Candlemass, has morphed the genre into one of their own making. Bands like Kyuss, Fu Manchu, Alabama Thunderpussy, Ironboss and hundreds of others pulling in legions of fans. The Europeans meantime added Electronica into the blend to create Darkwave and hordes of Metal bands discovered that adding a female vocalist, a Gothic touch and the introduction of avant garde instrumentation lent a whole new lease of life.
