The Suite for Jazz Orchestra No. 2 (Russian: Сюита для джазового оркестра №2) is a suite by Dmitri Shostakovich. It was written in 1938 for the newly founded State Jazz Orchestra of Victor Knushevitsky, and was premiered on 28 November 1938 in Moscow (Moscow Radio) by the State Jazz Orchestra. The score was lost during World War II, but a piano score of the work was rediscovered in 1999 by Manashir Yakubov.

Shostakovich: The Film Album. You really feel he enjoys this music, conducting it with relish and not a hint of condescension. Admittedly the Concerto for Piano, Trumpet and Strings has real pathos in its second movement to offset the brittle humour and high jinx elsewhere. Ronald Brautigam brings a Gershwin-like uninhibitedness to his performance, with Peter Masseurs incisive yet elegant in the trumpet part. The two jazz suites are peripheral Shostakovich, but great fun all the same
