Stand Up is the sixth studio album by Dave Matthews Band, released on May 10, 2005. It was produced by Mark Batson. It was their fourth consecutive number one album on the Billboard 200. The album was the last to feature full participation from the band's saxophonist, LeRoi Moore, who died during the early production stages of the following album Big Whiskey & the GrooGrux King.
Think Andrew Lloyd Webber mashed up with GWAR and a Disney ride. Battle metal crooner/leader Mathias "Warlord" Nygård's boom-and-doom voice commands his Norse warriors to "stand up and fight," "hoist the sails," and protect the front line like Scott Walker or Peter Murphy playing a William Wallace personality type on Broadway
In his first stand-up special Ragnarok, which premiered on Netflix in July, we see Hodgman transitioning between his deranged millionaire character and jokes about his personal life. For the most part though, he stays loyal to an apocalyptic theme, offering ridiculous tips to doomsday preppers in the vein of his satirical book series. Al Madrigal is one of the newest correspondents to the Daily Show, but he’s been a staple on the stand-up scene for ages. In terms of subject matter, Why Is The Rabbit Crying? bears some similarity to Aziz Ansari’s Buried Alive, but Madrigal speaks on marriage and children from the perspective of a seasoned veteran, familiar with the pitfalls of both single and married life.
These stand-up comedians' specials are the best of all time. We ranked the hilarious shows and specials that will tickle your funny bone. Never has stand-up comedy been more intimate or darker than in this special from Maria Bamford, which at once breaks the mold for what a special can be while delivering some of the funniest moments of any special in the past decade. The hour, which is mainly about her own mental health issues and how they relate to her parents, was recorded in her living room in front of an audience of just her mom and dad.

Stand-up comedy is subjective. Duh, you say, all art is subjective. Well, stand-up comedy is very subjective. I can’t think of anything in the history of stand-up like 8. The closest is maybe Andrew Dice Clay’s 1990 album The Day the Laughter Died, in which the comedian dropped into a club unannounced and improvised for like two hours. The difference is, the Clay album, though filled with awkward pauses, was meant to display Clay’s raw talent. 8 is about something deeper.
