Say hello to one of your new favourite bands. Cut Ribbons who hail from the musical town of Llanelli, Wales. You may recognise these guys from Reading and Leads festival when they performed back in 2012. Now they’re back and ready to release their EP ahead of their album release in early 2015. Talking about the EP, lead singer Aled says: ‘Sail was written in our studio in Llanelli and it has some lighter shades than our previous work. Walking on Wires is a song that we have had, in one form or another, for quite a while and has always remained fun to play live, now we are stopping greedily.

Limited to 100 CDs, this was a four track EP that Cut Ribbons recorded in Belfast on what was originally meant to be a trip to record their debut album. However, they got side-tracked and Sail was the result.

Cut Ribbons are a curious proposition. Capable of crafting hook-laden, immediately contagious songs, the Welsh group also have a literary bent. Switching between fragrant melodic-ism and something more intriguing, more cerebral, the band have lingered on the horizon for some time now. Patiently working on new material, Cut Ribbons are now able present their debut album. Partially recorded with Rocky O'Reilly in Belfast and in singer Aled Rees' own studio in Llanelli, it's a bewitching document.
