Get Ready is the RIAA Platinum-certified second studio album by American blues rock band Rare Earth. It was released on September 30, 1969 by Motown Records. John Persh – vocals, bass guitar, trombone. Pete Rivera – vocals, drums. Rod Richards – vocals, guitar. Kenny James – vocals, organ, electric piano. Gil Bridges – vocals, saxophone, tambourine.
The album was only a modest hit but it convinced the participants to record again. By the following year, the 1972 line-up of Rare Earth was back in the studio to record two new albums, Band Together and Grand Slam. The first single from Band Together was Warm Ride. The song had been written by the Bee Gees who were the hottest act in the world following the success of Saturday Night Fever and its mega-hit soundtrack. Rare Earth is an American rock band affiliated with Motown's Rare Earth record label (which was named after the band) who were particularly famous in the late-1960s and 1970s. The group formed in 1961 as The Sunliners, and, after changing their name to "Rare Earth" were signed to Motown in 1969. The band was the first act signed to a new Motown imprint that would be dedicated to white rock acts.
