Sha-Na-Na as Johnny Casino and the Gamblers, a rock and roll band. Alice Ghostley as Mrs. Murdock, a rogue auto shop teacher who helps build Greased Lightnin' for the T-Birds. Darrell Zwerling as Mr. Lynch. Most of the adult characters reprised their roles, though the sequel focused on a younger class of greasers and thus most of the main characters from Grease did not appear. It was disowned by Jim Jacobs, who co-created the characters. Patricia Birch, the original movie's choreographer, directed the sequel.

Sha Na Na is an American rock and roll doo-wop group. Performing a song-and-dance repertoire based on fifties hit songs, Sha Na Na has been simultaneously reviving and parodying the music of 1950s New York street culture since the group's formation in 1969. After gaining initial notoriety for their performance at Woodstock, the group hosted the Sha Na Na syndicated variety series that ran from 1977 to 1981.

Sha Na Na's big break came at the original Woodstock Festival and from there went on to huge live success in the States and Europe. They are now best known for their syndicated TV show from the late '70s and early '80s that turned them into a household name (who can ever forget Bowzer?). It is their original line up with many of the members leaving and moving into professional careers (yes, doctors and lawyers!)
