ARIA award winning debut for the Killjoys. RUBY is heard in full on my stereo every month. But the memories aren't as important as the compositions, performance and those amazing vocals which gel together in a very unique way to form what is easily one of the top 10 Australian albums.

Caroline Schwerkolt's dreamy vibes are the group's other main sonic signature, adding a lovely texture to nearly every song on the album. Burley's lyrics aren't as memorable as the folk-tinged melodies, though the wistful "Michael Told Me" does an admirable job of recalling a lost love without whininess or recrimination. A fantastic debut, Ruby shows that the spirit of twee pop was alive and well between its early-'80s and mid-'90s heydays.

Their latest release, Pearl, offers interested listeners two facets of their sound in that the album is a twofer.

The Killjoys are still a performing entity with the two core members Burley and Pilkington. They issued a compilation album, In 2006 the Killjoys released an album, Stealing Horses, the group's first in seven years. They released another album, Pearl, in 2011. It is considered somewhat of a sequel to the band's iconic Ruby album, which was remastered and re-released alongside Pearl. and will release a new CD in 2018. Anna Burley – vocals, guitar (1988–.

The Killjoys' first full-length album, Ruby, won the ARIA Award in 1991 for Best Independent Release. Sun Bright Deep was later nominated for the same award in 1998. In 2006 the band released the album Stealing Horses, the group's fifth full-length album and first in seven years. The band released another album entitled Pearl in 2011, five years after their previous release.

Ruby was the first album by American rock group Ruby, featuring Tom Fogerty. The instrumental track "BART" (named after the San Francisco Bay Area subway), was frequently used by the BBC to accompany test cards, continuity announcements and Pages from Ceefax from the late 1970s until 2012. When the digital switchover happened, the track was chosen to play out the last Pages of Ceefax before the closure of analogue teletext in the UK, in October 2012. Life Is But a Dream" (3:26).

Ruby is a character appearing in Season 3 of Killjoys. She is portrayed by actress Ewa Placzynska. Ruby was a servant tat had worked for her employer for six years, although her employer had never bothered to learn her name.
