Sir David Paradine Frost OBE (7 April 1939 – 31 August 2013) was an English television host, media personality, journalist, comedian, and writer. After graduating from Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, Frost rose to prominence in the United Kingdom when he was chosen to host the satirical programme That Was the Week That Was in 1962. His success on this show led to work as a host on .
David Frost placed himself at the forefront of this boom as the host of the program That Was the Week That Was. Each episode featured sketches, monologue jokes, and musical numbers that skewered the leaders and events of the day. The show proved immensely popular and controversial, resulting in its cancellation after just two seasons, and a move to America. Frost as a figure also became rather divisive during this time. The Frost Report on Class doesn’t offer anything in the way of a solution for the issues described here, but it did shine a light on a world that wasn’t often discussed so frankly. While The Frost Report would only last another two years, the impact it had on the world of comedy is incredible. The fact that it brought together the majority of the Pythons (minus Gilliam) is enough of a contribution that it belongs in the comedy history books.

More notable was The Frost Report (1966-1967), which launched the television careers of John Cleese, Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett. He signed for Rediffusion, the ITV weekday contractor in London, to produce a "heavier" interview-based show called The Frost Programme. Guests included Sir Oswald Mosley and Rhodesian premier Ian Smith. After transferring from ITV, his Sunday morning interview programme Breakfast with Frost ran on the BBC from January 1993 until 29 May 2005. The programme originally began in this format on TV-am in September 1983 as Frost on Sunday until the station lost its franchise at the end of 1992. As of November 2006, he works for Al Jazeera English, presenting a live weekly hour-long current affairs programme, Frost Over the World, which started when the network launched in November 2006.
The Frost Report was a satirical television show hosted by David Frost. It ran for 28 episodes on the BBC from 10 March 1966 to 26 December 1967.
