In 1970, the Atlanta Jazz Society imported cornetist Wild Bill Davison for one of their monthly concerts; all of the music has been released on two CDs. Davison was not familiar with any of the musicians, except for possibly Ernie Carson (who here sticks to piano except when switching to his usual cornet on a spirited "Royal Garden Blues"), but it is obvious that he was pleasantly surprised by their playing. In fact, by the third song on this nine-selection CD, Wild Bill sounds somewhat jubilant.
