Mumford & Sons are back. Three years after their third album Wilder Minds topped the UK charts, the banjo-wielding group have released the first track from their upcoming fourth record, titled Delta.
Delta is the fourth studio album by British band Mumford & Sons. It was released on 16 November 2018 through Gentlemen of the Road and Island Records. The album was recorded at The Church Studios in London with producer Paul Epworth. The album reached number one on the US Billboard 200 and number two on the UK Albums Chart
Delta’ is the much-anticipated follow-up to 2015’s ‘Wilder Mind’. Published on. September 20, 2018. Since the release of Wilder Mind in May 2015, and the collaborative Johannesburg mini-album in the Summer of 2016, Mumford & Sons have found a rich, prolific vein of form in the writing for Delta. Where Wilder Mind harnessed a widescreen electric sound that seemed custom built to be belted back to them from the festival main stages, Delta loses none of that sense of scale, but couples it with an intimacy that has so successfully combined to make Mumford & Sons one of the biggest bands of recent years. Delta is a record of differing shades, colours and textures.
So, for their fourth album, Delta (out November 17th on Gentlemen of the Road/Glassnote) Mumford & Sons decided to do something they saw as just as radical. Encouraged by producer Paul Epworth (Adele, Florence and the Machine, Coldplay), they brought back the acoustic instruments that dominated their first two albums, including Marshall’s banjo. Except this time, Epworth put them through production effects so that they’re often almost unrecognizable

That’s how you could explain the sound of Black River Delta. Three friends from the northern parts of Sweden packed their guitars and moved down to the south. With inspirations from the very early blues of Robert Johnson and . Burnside to the more modern sound as in Gary Clark Jr, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Dead Weather Report, they pretty much locked themselves into the studio. The ninth of May 2015 their debut single Follow You Down was released. A series of gigs followed, in Denmark, Sweden and Canada.
