Lifetimes, the fourth CD from the Brubeck Brothers Quartet, finds this outfit exploring five songs associated with their father and three originals that come from the other half of the band-guitarist Mike DeMicco and pianist Chuck Lamb. Three of Dave Brubeck's best known tunes-"The Duke," "Kathy's Waltz" and the Paul Desmond-penned "Take Five"-show up in the playlist, but they're given a new lease on life with some arranging tweaks.

Brothers Chris Brubeck (bass and trombone) and Dan Brubeck (drums) have jazz in their veins, since their dad is the legendary jazz master Dave Brubeck. The two brothers have been playing together for years and cut their first record together in 1996. With the addition of guitar (Mike DeMicco) and piano (Chuck Lamb) they have now released four albums, of which this is their latest. This is a great album. I was lucky enough to see these guys in New Haven on the green one year. This collection of works wil not disappoint any lover of jazz or/and good music.
