When Charlene re-signed with Motown in 1982, Motown agreed not only to the mainstream production of a brand new album of material but also to the US release of a religious set she had already started with Chapel Lane Records in England. The 1982 outing, The Sky Is the Limit (Motown 6024 ML), offers reflective gospel music with several. songs penned by Charlene herself plus a cover of Lionel Richie's "Jesus Is Love". Peaking at on Billboard's Top 200, Charlene's corresponding Used to Be album (Motown 6027 ML) was not as successful as the I've Never Been to Me LP. Highlights of Used to Be included a rendition of "You're Home", which had previously appeared in the stage musical Daddy Goodness, and a cover of "Heaven Help Us All", originally popularized by Stevie Wonder.

Charlene's first album, CHARLENE (1976), has the mononologue. The re-packaged version of what is essentially the same album, SONGS OF LOVE (1977), does not contain the spoken section as it was deemed too feminist (or perhaps anti-feminist, depending on one's perspective). When the song became a huge hit in '82, it was the version with the monologue that was being played on the radio, so that's the take that Motown re-released. It can be used to guide all of us in this new milenium. Everyone is having fun and looking for materialistic without leaving behind their blood member to carry on the generation.

Getting used to loving you won't be easy For the last love I had was untrue So go slow please go slow won't you darling. While I'm gettin' used. I used to be an A student I never used to complain I used to be a truant But I'm still the same. He used to be somebody's baby Someone used to hold him close, and rock him gently He used to be the light in someone's eyes He used to matter, he. Used To. Daughtry. You used to talk to me like I was the only one around You used to lean on me The only other choice was falling down You used to walk with me like We.

Stevie Wonder – Used To Be lyrics. Superman was killed in Dallas There's no love left in the palace Someone took the Beatles' lead guitar Have another Chivas Regal You're 12 years old and s is legal Your parents don't know where or who you are. Used to be the hero of the ballgame Took the time to shake the loser's hand Used to be that failure only meant you didn't try In a world where people gave a damn
