Description

Crimson Glory : Astronomica,альбом, рецезия, трек-лист, mp3, тексты песен.

Astronomica is the fourth studio album by the American progressive metal band Crimson Glory, released in 1999 via Spitfire Records (USA) and Rising Sun (Europe). After a long hiatus following their album Strange and Beautiful, the band reformed with Wade Black on vocals and Steve Wacholz (of Savatage fame) on drums. Although he is pictured in the album artwork (with the intention of being the new drummer), Wacholz never actually played on the record – a drum machine was used.

Crimson Glory are an American progressive metal band that formed in 1979 under the name Pierced Arrow (later changed to 'Beowulf'). Their current line-up features long-time guitarists Jon Drenning and Ben Jackson, bassist Jeff Lords, and drummer Dana Burnell. The band formed in Sarasota, Florida.

They show influential nods to all of those groups in the music on this album. Of course, they have given listeners much more than that with Astronomica; they have given the world an album which both entertains and pushes the envelope of progressive metal. This one probably is not for everyone. The vocals (which somewhat call to mind King Diamond's style) will most likely send a few people running.

Enter Astronomica, Crimson Glory’s fourth (and presently their last) studio album, this time with Wade Black providing lead vocal work. Naturally the key problem fans have had with this change is a noticeably different voice fronting the group, but this shift is the least of what listeners should be concerned about. As the album name implies, this is a science fiction-themed release which leads to the first of its abundantly problematic issues: insipidness. The themes and ensuing music from this album can begin to sound like what Roland Emmerich would deliver if involved in a heavy metal ac.
