Up (2002) is the seventh studio and 13th album overall released by the English rock musician Peter Gabriel. It is his last full-length studio album of new original material to date, as the subsequent albums Scratch My Back and New Blood feature covers of other artists' songs and orchestral renderings of Gabriel's older material, respectively. Gabriel began work on the album in the spring of 1995. Its name was Up from the start, though at one point the name I/O was considered
That changed with the album So (1986) and the singles "Sledgehammer" and Don't Give Up (with Kate Bush). Peter Gabriel knew now also as a solo artist to reach the top of the charts, without having any significant artistic concessions. G main asset is undoubtedly his characteristic hoarse voice, which belongs to the fraaisten in pop music. In addition he has an unmatched work ethic, making each new problem on all sides is correct.
Ten years is a long time, especially in pop music, but waiting ten years to deliver an album is a clear sign that you're not all that interested in the pop game anyway. Such is the case with Peter Gabriel, who delivered Up in 2002, a decade after Us and four years after he announced its title. Perhaps appropriately, Up sounds like an album that was ten years in the making, revealing not just its pleasures but its intent very, very slowly

The tour took in thirty-two cities across the USA, Canada and Europe and this concert performance was recorded over two nights at the Filaforum in Milan in May 2003, with Peter Gabriel and the band performing in the round at the centre of the arena
