Stephen Coombs in particular has been doing this composer an immense justice in bringing his piano works from the coldness of obscurity (like Elena Glazunovna, the composer's adopted daughter, Leslie Howard, and Franova before him). Howard's Pearl recordings of Glazunov's two piano sonatas and the Theme et Variations were milestones in their days. But Stephen Coombs sort of re-awakens interests in the Glazunov's piano music, with his artful, imaginative advocacy that would done the composer proud (and this is true in the next three volumes)
