born Kingston, Jamaica, 1960) Initially performing under the name Peter Ranking, he changed his name when he discovered that another deejay was using that name, and since he was resident deejay on the Metromedia sound system, he chose the name Peter Metro. But timing also came into it, and if you want to talk about missing the boat, Metro never even found the harbor. Metro was released in early 1977, but it belonged to late 1974. Not to be confused for a moment with the later incarnation of the band that danced through the early '80s, the original Metro comprised vocalists Duncan Browne and Peter Godwin - Godwin alone carried the flag into the future.

Excellent rub-a-dub early DJ music from the one Peter Metro! This album is all tracks from his previous "Dedicated" album, minus "warn them" featuring his brother Squiddly ranking and "the girl is mine" featuring Yellowman. If you are a fan of Yellowman, Welton Irie or Lone Ranger I highly recommend Peter Metro and this album is a great start!
