Scott "Adrift" is a creative album that prods my imagination in a variety of directions. It was somewhat in the background for my second listen just now, as I've been making a mess in the kitchen cooking up some slop, yet it is engaging enough to prompt me to summarize it with three simple words: sparkling, empathic, and friendship. Adrift is Robert Farrugia's 7th album, and his third release on the Archives imprint. The album is a departure from his previous electroacoustic works to a more minimalistic approach in the vein of Geotic (Baths) and Helios. It touchingly discusses the feelings of uncertainty and optimistic doubt that come with maturation and onset adulthood.

I struggle to think of anything I’ve heard like it, it was deeply original and the composition brought magic back to life for me.

Most interest in the al. ock "supergroup" Eyes Adrift will probably derive from it being the first significant project from Krist Novoselic since his days as bassist with Nirvana; but the decisive presence here is surely former Meat Puppets singer and guitarist Curt Kirkwood, who along with ex-Sublime drummer Bud Gaugh completes the band's line-up.
