No Doubt is the eponymous debut studio album by American rock band No Doubt, released on March 17, 1992 by Interscope Records. It was originally recorded as an independent release, but was re-recorded after the band signed with Interscope. It was produced by Dito Godwin and recorded in Los Angeles. The album was released during a period in which the United States was mainly focused on grunge music, an angst-ridden genre that was almost the complete opposite of No Doubt's upbeat, commercial sound. In December 1987, Spence committed suicide several days before the band was to play a gig at The Roxy Theatre for record industry employees. No Doubt disbanded but decided to regroup after several weeks with Alan Meade taking over vocals. When Meade left the band, Gwen replaced him as lead singer, while No Doubt continued to develop a live.

Since the mid-1990s in live performances and the studio, they have been supported by keyboardist and trombonist, Gabrial McNair; and keyboardist and trumpeter, Stephen Bradley. The ska sound of their song "Trapped in a Box", featured on their 1992 eponymous debut album, failed to make an impact. The album sold over 100,000 copies in 1995, over three times as many as their first album. The band's diamond-certified album Tragic Kingdom (1995) benefited from the resurgence of third-wave ska in the 1990s, and "Don't Speak", the third single from the album, set a record when it spent 16 weeks at the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart. On November 4, 2009, the Los Angeles Times reported that No Doubt had filed a lawsuit over its portrayal in the music video game Band Hero.

No Doubt developed a regional following and a reputation as a ska-influenced party band in Orange County. It released two albums, No Doubt and The Beacon Street Collection -before achieving huge success with the 14-song CD Tragic Kingdom in 1996. The album also found No Doubt with two Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and Best Rock Album in 1997. With Gwen’s strong stage presence, the band was also able to have a hugely successful tour that lasted through until December 1997. Unfortunately the follow up album Return of Saturn in 2000 didn’t find quite as much success; resulting in a shortened tour circuit for the album. Newly reunited No Doubt have a barrage of hits to unleash on their audiences and with front woman Gwen Stefani holding proceedings over the whole affair you know you are assured a fantastic live experience. During their heyday No Doubt were one of the biggest name in alt-rock after a string of their hits topped the US charts. From the dreamy 90's intro to 'It's My Life' the crowd cheer uncontrollably before the guitar kicks in to that infamous chorus.

Hardened by the suicide of Spence in December 1987, No Doubt nevertheless continued; Gwen became the lone vocalist and the group added guitarist Tom Dumont and drummer Adrian Young.
