Me First and the Gimme Gimmes (often shortened to just "Me First" or "The Gimmes") are a punk rock supergroup and cover band that formed in San Francisco in 1995. The Gimmes work exclusively as a cover band. The band is named after a children's book of the same name by Gerald G. Jampolsky and Diane V. Cirincione.
Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, a punk rock supergroup cover band, has a discography that consists of five studio albums, three EPs, one live album, one compilation album, eighteen singles, one box set, and three music videos. Me First and the Gimme Gimmes formed in 1995 in California from members of other notable rock bands: Spike Slawson (Swingin' Utters), Chris Shiflett (No Use for a Name, Foo Fighters), Fat Mike (NOFX), and Joey Cape and Dave Raun (Lagwagon).

Earlier in 2011, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes released an EP of cover songs by Australian artists before a tour in the land down under, and then made plans to make EPs in Spanish, German, Italian, and French.

If you happen to understand Japanese or don’t care what someone is singing about, this may be an awesome cd but to me it’s just so-so. Musically, The Gimme’s are really on the ball with this one.
