Pat McLaughlin is a singer/songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee. He was raised in Waterloo, Iowa, but moved to San Francisco, California in the early 1970s. There McLaughlin began to write songs, playing alone at open mic nights and in the streets near the bay. After a brief stint in Boston, he moved to Nashville where he formed a band and released his first album in 1980. His first major label album Pat McLaughlin made its debut in 1988.

The rest of the music world might be going unplugged, but I don't expect to hear a finer album this year than McLaughlin's "Unglued. He's a Nashville songwriter who has been covered by, among others, Trisha Yearwood, John Prine and Steve Wariner, none of which prepares one for this cozily stunning album

John McLaughlin (born 4 January 1942), also known as Mahavishnu John McLaughlin, is an English guitarist, bandleader and composer. His music includes many genres of jazz, combined with elements of rock, Indian classical music, Western classical music, flamenco, and blues. He is one of the pioneering figures in fusion.
