Liberation is the fourth studio album by American recording artist Mýa Harrison. It was intended to be Harrison's debut release with her then new record label Universal Motown following her departure from Interscope in 2005. Before leaving, she had begun work on an album for Interscope called Control Freak set for a summer release 2005 with production by a host of other producers.

Mya is the self-titled debut album by Mya. The album was released on April 21, 1998 on Interscope Records. She was signed to the label by Haaq Islam when she was 16 years old. Once Mya was signed, she began recording her album which began in 1997 and ended in 1998. The album was recorded at the Silent Sound Studios in Atlanta, Georgia and The Record Plant in Los Angeles, California.

Mýa is the debut studio album by American singer Mýa. It was released on April 21, 1998, by University Music Entertainment and Interscope Records. Mýa peaked at number 29 on the US Billboard 200 and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), selling over . million copies in the United States.

Part of its success lies with the teenage Mya, who has a voice that is at once innocent and knowing, and part of it lies with her excellent team of producers and songwriters. Executive producer A. Haqq Islam has assembled a stellar behind-the-scenes team - featuring Babyface, Diane Warren, Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott and members of Dru Hill - which has written and produced a fine set of songs that manage to sound universal and strangely confessional.

Sugar & Spice (Mýa album). Prior to Mýa recording and releasing her first independent album overseas, she released three successful studio albums in the United States; 1998's Mýa, 2000's Fear of Flying and 2003's Moodring. Back in 1998, Mýa released her debut self-titled album, which peaked at No. 13 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Fear of Flying (2000) fared even better at No. 7, with the single "Case of the Ex" reaching No. 2 on the Hot 100.

The album has changed quite a bit since we first heard it last August. You have Mya holding her ground and letting everyone know that she’s holding her man down. She doesn’t just want to be his woman, but she’s that freak, that wife, that ride or die chick.  A pleasant surprise is female rapper Charli Baltimore (replacing Penelope Jones) making her way back on the scene with her consistent raw Philly flow.
