album di Waylon Jennings e Willie Nelson del 1982. Leggi in un'altra lingua. Aggiungi agli osservati speciali. Lato A. Mr. Shuck and Jive (feat. Willie Nelson) – 3:45 (Jim Webb). Roman Candles – 2:58 (Michael Smotherman).
Whereas 1978's Waylon and Willie contained several previously released backing tracks upon which Nelson had overdubbed his vocals, WWII bears all the hallmarks of Moman's slick production
Waylon & Willie is a duet album by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, released by RCA Records in 1978. It stayed at album on the country album charts for ten weeks and would spend a total of 126 weeks on the country charts. At the dawn of 1978, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson had attained country music superstar status.
A sequel to Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings’ smash album from 1978, WWII is a similarly potent display of the duo’s chemistry and the range of their talent. The major difference is that while Waylon & Willie had an organic '70s production style, WWII is entrenched in the '80s. Chips Moman brings the songs a more processed sound, but he compensates with beautifully spare arrangements. Last Cowboy Song, The Year That Clayton Delaney Died and Lady In the Harbor have the intimate, low velvety sound that became Waylon’s trademark in the '70s
