This Spanish five piece band made a fine impression with their third album entitled "Mutatis mutandis". On this new album Mythos is obvious less influenced by IQ than on that third album. In general they made modern and pleasant sounding, often dynamic neo-prog featuring strong and fiery electric guitarplay, tasteful keyboards and a tight rhythm- section (sometimes a bit too)
The first Mythos LP was released in 1972, on the legendary 'Krautrock' label Ohr. On 'Mythos' the band realized a mixture of art rock and psychedelic with oriental influences in lengthy pieces. Stephan Kaske played the melody from Händel's 'Fireworks Music' on the flute in a rockmeets-classic version. Oriental Journey-Hero's Death' creates a psychedelic mood with sitar and mellotron sounds

Mythos (Mythos album). Encyclopedia Terrae', which takes up the entire second side, is the highlight of the album and features powerful drums meeting up with peaceful sequences, sounds of warfare such as detonating bombs and marching soldiers meeting up with hard guitar riffs. This debut album instantly became a classic in the Krautrock-genre.
Throughout the album, it is almost hard to believe that In Nomine Odium is the masterpiece of just two musicians, Syht and Haemoth. While Syht handles the drums on the album, Haemoth manages the rest of the instruments, including vocals and as evident from the quality of the music, does what he does extremely well. His vocals are a tortured, inhuman screech/shriek, somehow reminding me of Satanic Warmaster at times and this certainly helps in sending chills down the listener's back. The different sounds that the band has managed to combine into a single record is sure to make In Nomine Odium an album that any fan of black metal can easily get into and enjoy.
