Crown Royal is the seventh and final album by hip hop group Run–D. released on April 3, 2001 by Arista Records. It's the first and only Run–D. album with a Parental Advisory label, though previous Run-D. C albums, such as the 1986 Raising Hell, had included explicit lyrics. Crown Royal is the last studio album from pioneering hip-hop band Run-DMC. From 1983 until 1999, they recorded for indie label Profile Records-and over the years, intermittent lawsuits filed on their behalf to extricate the group from the label stalled the recording of new material (it was an open secret that Run's brother Russell Simmons wanted them released to record for his label Def Jam-but Profile owners stonewalled).
